Recently, China Energy Engineering Group Jiangsu Electric Power Construction Company No.1, in collaboration with five other firms, won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of the on-ground power plant for the 1.05 million kW/6.3 million kWh compressed air energy storage project in Zhuozi County, Ulanqab. The project is located in Lihua Town, Zhuozi County, Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia, covering an area of about 700 mu. It adopts an innovative technical approach that combines \"deep underground space\" with \"artificial chambers for gas storage\", and integrates advanced insulation technologies; as a result, its energy conversion efficiency can exceed 65%. It represents a key project for the region’s green and low-carbon development. Jiangsu Electric Power Construction Company No.1 is responsible for the main installation work of the two units and the plant’s utility systems. Upon completion, the project will generate approximately 2 billion kWh of electricity per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 1.6 million tons, thereby enhancing the peak-shaving capacity of the North China power grid.
