On April 7, the Petroleum Engineering Design Company of Sinopec Petroleum Engineering Construction Company signed a contract with Shanghai Hailan Cloud Technology Co., Ltd., the world’s first commercial undersea data center service provider, to officially launch the first undersea data center project designed by Sinopec. Data centers located in upper areas have green and low-carbon advantages, representing an important direction for the transformation and development of the computing power industry. This project innovatively establishes a collaborative model of \"offshore wind power + undersea computing power,\" utilizing the direct power supply from offshore wind turbines to significantly reduce losses associated with long-distance power transmission ； At the same time, by utilizing the natural cooling source of the ocean and employing heat exchange technology on the outer wall of the data compartment, efficient cooling is achieved; no fresh water is required throughout the process, thus enabling a win-win situation in terms of efficient energy use and environmental protection. Once completed, the project will play a positive role in helping Sinopec explore new opportunities for its marine business, foster new drivers for digital transformation, and investigate pathways for the development of green computing capabilities, thereby assisting the company in gaining practical experience in the field of integration between energy and the digital economy.
