Standard GB50235, clause 8.6.2, specifies that GC3 pipes can be subjected to a pressure test using the operating medium, but it does not state what this pressure should be – whether it is the operating pressure, the design pressure, or 1.15/1.5 times the design pressure Is it correct to keep using the operating pressure for the current project?
For liquids, it is a hydraulic test at 1.5 times the design pressure; for gases, it is a pneumatic test at 1.1 times the design pressure. There is no operational pressure
I think that since power has been delegated, the operating pressure should be sufficient. Operating under design pressure, or at 1.5 times the design pressure, is detrimental to the safety of the device; it also makes operation difficult, as everything is now connected as one system
The test pressure should still be in accordance with the pressure requirements specified in the standards. It is only permissible to use the operating medium instead of the medium specified for testing; it does not mean that the operating pressure can be used in place of the test pressure.
Since a pressure test is conducted using the operating medium, it should be carried out according to the conditions of that medium, that is, at the operating pressure. This is also known as an online test, and it is applied to non-hazardous media such as water, air, and nitrogen.
According to GB50235 8.6.2, GC3 pipes can be subjected to pressure testing using the medium under which they will operate. This pressure test is a strength test aimed at determining whether the pipe has sufficient capacity to withstand pressure. Since the pressure test is carried out using the operating medium, it indicates that the strength of the pipe has not yet been proven; generally, only pipes using circulating water or fire-fighting water allow for such testing, so the operating pressure can be used for this purpose. If the medium is a gas, 6 kilograms must not be exceeded.
