Switching from coal to gas in boilers: the issue of spacing

This post was last edited by shiworkstation on 2017-2-15 09:33. The boiler is being converted from using coal to gas; no pipeline supply of gas is needed, only gas cylinders are used occasionally. Can it be placed next to the boiler room? Are there any standards that can be applied for spacing?
The gas cylinder is likely to be quite large as well; fire separation distances should probably be applied as if it were a small storage tank. Otherwise, they should both be considered as Class A workshops

Since it is gas used for boilers, the consumption of gas must be high; therefore, a manifold is necessary to supply gas from the cylinders. Consider the distance based on Class A locations.
I’ve come across cases where steam generators were used when there was no steam or natural gas supply available in the facility at the beginning. The owner uses liquefied petroleum gas; the cylinders are placed in a separately designated area (with a floor area of less than 5%), separated by firewalls, with one side facing outward, and the explosion venting area has been calculated to meet the requirements
