Our company produces ethanol gasoline, and we have recently noticed that the top of the ethanol storage tank has turned black. What could be the cause?
It’s probably due to too much sun exposure in the summer; the top of the jar wasn’t protected with sunscreen, which led to pigment deposition there. By winter, it should gradually return to its original color.
Does anyone know if it’s the floating pad that’s leaking? ?
It’s normal for organic substances to form carbon deposits over time, right?
Why are the other jars fine? ? ? ?
Does it darken on the inside or on the outside? The interior consists of carbon produced by the decomposition of organic matter, while the exterior is caused by dust in the environment. Dust tends to accumulate on rough surfaces
The outside has turned black; the key point is that we just painted the top of the tank, and it’s only been four or five months. If it’s due to dust accumulation that causes the blackening, then why aren’t the adjacent tanks as dark?
It could also be that the ethanol-blended gasoline evaporates, absorbing heat and thereby lowering the temperature of the tank; frost formation then causes substances from the external environment to adhere to it, leading to darkening. Check the airtightness of the tank.
Does it necessarily have something to do with ethanol? Could it not be a problem with the paint? What resin is used in the coating? What is its weather resistance like? What pigments and dyes are used, and are they stable?
