Dehydration of ethanol to produce ethylene

I would like to ask everyone: are there any updates on projects currently under construction for the production of ethylene from ethanol dehydration?
If ethylene is produced from ethanol, then what is the source of that ethanol? Is it ethanol produced by starch fermentation?
No: it is from coal to methanol, then from methanol to dimethyl ether, and finally to ethanol.

Is it profitable to produce ethylene from ethanol? It feels like they’re building a money incinerator somehow{:3_57:}
