Valve installation for the process condensate water pipe to the main pipe

RT, seeking expert guidance. Why are the valves and piping arrangements for the process condensate water to reach the main pipe different? In some cases, it is connected at a 45° angle; in others, there is a valve plus a check valve; and in yet other cases, it connects directly to the main pipe without any such elements?
An insertion at 45 degrees to the main pipe is optimal. It can reduce resistance.
Is it related to the situation with steam condensate earlier?
It may be related to the medium in the pipes connected to the process condensate water pipes; cutoff valves and check valves are installed to prevent the backflow of steam condensate into those pipes. It is generally connected directly to the steam condensate main pipe, preferably at a 45° angle
