I saw that rock wool is used for the pipes, and glass wool is used as insulation material for the equipment! But I couldn’t find any clear differences in their areas of use online; for example, rock wool is used for pipes, while glass wool is used for equipment. There’s also mineral wool. What are people’s opinions in the chemical industry? In what situations are each of these three materials used?

Taking environmental considerations into account (rock wool and glass wool contain large amounts of glass fibers, which can pose risks to workers and the surrounding environment during construction, especially in windy conditions; therefore they are considered obsolete products). Is it perhaps for the sake of ease of construction? Is glass wool too hard? It’s fine for covering large equipment, but it’s difficult to use for covering small pipes; rock wool is more suitable in such cases
