Why does the compression shutdown synthesis system need to release pressure?

I have just started working in ammonia synthesis, and I felt that my answer to this question in the exam wasn’t very good. I would appreciate it if experts could provide a more complete answer.
Without a pressure relief system, the pressure will be quite high, which has a significant impact on the pressure of the preceding systems
When starting the engine again to raise the pressure, it should not be too high; release some of the pressure after stopping the engine to prepare for restarting it.
