Everyone: What are your thoughts on the locking management of on-site valves? What are the approaches? What do I think I should do? If locking is supported, how do I lock it? Are there any specific requirements in the drawings? Are there clear requirements in the regulations? Does the company have clear policies? Discussion is welcome!
Our device is also locked to prevent accidental operation
1. Ordinary valves are locked with thin wire and equipped with a do not operate sign, which can be removed at any time in emergency situations. 2. The root valve of the safety valve is normally open; it is secured with an iron chain and a universal lock, with the universal key kept in both the outdoor control room and the indoor control room.
Our approach is: for the root valves and drain valves of critical pipelines, use thin iron wire; 2. Hang a “Do Not Operate” sign ; 3. Remove the handle; the root valves of safety valves are sealed with lead seals.
In terms of process: Apply lead seals to the main and auxiliary valves of the safety valve, maintain a record sheet, conduct regular inspections, and verify the lead seal numbers. Meters involving measurement devices are sealed with lead seals by the measurement department; the workshop has no authority to disassemble or assemble them. To prevent accidental operation, locking the device’s valves is a good method.
Valves that have not been used for a long time should be sealed with lead. For other manual valves, how could there be accidental operation? Do those valves need to be opened every day? The pipeline is equipped with double valves and XV valves, all of which are controlled by a program.
