This paper theoretically analyzes the formation process of sulfur dioxide in these exhaust gases, briefly introduces the basic principles of the wet desulfurization technique using magnesium oxide, and discusses in detail the control of parameters such as slurry preparation, absorption, oxidation level, pH value, crystallization concentration, and drying temperature. It is pointed out that this method for producing magnesium sulfate heptahydrate helps to prevent problems such as blockages and scaling in the absorption tower; it features low investment costs and a simple tower structure. The feasibility of this approach is also examined from economic perspectives such as raw material supply and operating costs, which can help reduce the costs associated with flue gas desulfurization and increase the profit margin on the by-product magnesium sulfate. This process not only protects the environment but also generates good economic benefits for enterprises. Only in this way can enterprises achieve sustainable and healthy development, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
