Desalinating seawater is a huge challenge!
I had seen desalination using vacuum flash distillation on small fishing boats in Russia before; however, the boats were probably very old, over 20 years old in most cases, and the water produced through this method had an unpleasant taste. But with this kind of ship at sea for several months, it’s passable enough to drink.
I’m very interested in this project; let’s communicate more if we get the chance.
