As the title says! Condensing unit selection criteria? Why are all the turbines at Hengli of the condensing type? 3.8mp pressure steam turbines also use condensing type!
When deciding whether to use a extraction-type or a full-condensation turbine, the overall steam balance of the plant is taken into consideration. If the production process requires steam at a lower pressure than that of the incoming steam, and if 4.0 Mpa of steam is sufficient, then an extraction-type turbine can be chosen; even when the demand for low-pressure steam is low, a full-condensation turbine can be utilized.
Thank you for your explanation! I understand your explanation! But if there is still 1.0 MP of steam left after using 4.0 MP of steam to drive the turbine, is a condensing type still used? Won’t that require more cooling water? Could it be that the turbine has completed its work?
I think the remaining steam should be made full use of; if it hasn’t been fully utilized, it can be separated out and used by other users
It’s really not possible to generalize in this case. First of all, the turbine we choose must meet the requirements of the operating conditions; only after that can we decide what type of turbine to use based on the site conditions and process requirements.
The selection of turbine type should be determined based on the overall steam balance of the entire plant. Fully condensing turbines are more efficient in terms of steam usage, but they are not energy-saving. The energy consumption is higher than that of the back-pressure type.
Once you figure out the steam quality, consumption, and source usage across the entire plant, everything will become clear.
