Currently, experiments generate hydrogen, with a production rate of around 500 g/h, which amounts to approximately 3 kg per day; there is also a very small amount of CO present. From both safety and economic perspectives, how should these exhaust gases be treated?
It is best to carry out harmless treatment; if discharged directly, safety issues must be taken into account.
The volume of 1 kilogram of hydrogen is: 500 * 22.4 = 11,200 L = 11.2 cubic meters. 3 kilograms is a relatively large amount, and releasing it into the atmosphere at high altitudes can be dangerous.
I’m not sure about the purity; can it be bottled and sold?
The 2CO medium-temperature shift reaction is generated, and it is harmless.

Hydrogen should be vented at a high point, with a flame arrester installed; the height as well as the surrounding buildings must comply with relevant standards. What is the CO concentration? Emissions must comply with regulations; otherwise, poisoning can occur and that would be problematic
Because you are talking about experiments. So it won’t take too long to be developed; if it succeeds, it will definitely be industrialized. So for now, the waste gas generated is simply released directly; recycling it is something for later. Your focus should be on the experiment itself.
