Sinopec has been granted an invention patent: “A Method for Producing p-Xylene”. According to data from the Tianyancha app, Sinopec (600028) has received a new invention patent grant; the title of the patent is “A Method for Producing p-Xylene”, the patent application number is CN202111180737.2, and the date of grant is September 26, 2025. Patent Abstract: This invention relates to the field of separation and purification, and discloses a method for producing p-xylene. This method includes (1) cooling and crystallizing a feedstock containing p-xylene at a crystallization temperature of -70°C to 10°C, to obtain slurry I containing p-xylene crystals ； 2) Slurry I is fed into a rotary pressure filter for filtration. The rotary pressure filter is equipped with a feeding zone, at least one drying zone, at least one washing zone, a discharging zone, a cleaning zone, and a pre-cooling zone. Slurry I enters the feeding zone, where filtration takes place to produce filter cake I and mother liquor I. The filter cake I is then dried and washed in sequence, after which it is sent to the discharging zone and removed from the rotary pressure filter, thereby yielding p-xylene product. The method provided by the present invention shortens the process flow, reduces equipment investment, and lowers energy consumption. Since the beginning of this year, Sinopec has obtained 2,768 new patent approvals, a decrease of 30.87% compared to the same period last year. Based on the company’s financial figures for the first half of 2025, the company invested 6.186 billion yuan in research and development during this period, representing a 3.05% increase compared to the previous year.
