I have a project to design a tube containing small particles with a diameter of 2-3 mm. Fall down along the inclined tube. Only friction and gravity are considered. The owner wants to measure the falling speed of these particles. But we can’t find the right instrument to measure speed. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I think it’s possible to do this: by using the measured length of the tube and the time it takes for the particle to reach the bottom, the acceleration can be calculated, and then the velocity will be V=aT
Could a weighing device be added above or below this section of pipe? It’s just my personal opinion; I hope you won’t laugh at me.
Ask the manufacturers; there are many companies that produce instruments and sensors, such as Mettler, Honeywell, Dräger, etc. See if they have any relevant products
It’s accelerated in segments, so it’s impossible to measure accurately.
The weighing method won’t work; it involves accelerated segments, and what we’re looking for is the maximum speed.

Is the material in a full pipe or a half pipe?
