Last year, our company converted the production facility for the oil additive MTBE into one designed for producing medical-grade MTBE. After numerous challenges, we finally managed to produce the desired product in October this year; however, the production volume remains low. Do any of you have any ideas on how to increase the processing capacity of the MTBE purification tower?
Use the previous two refining towers, or increase the processing capacity of the existing towers – there’s something wrong with the way this question is phrased
I’m not sure what those two standard deviations you mentioned are, but in the case of distillation, the higher the purity required, the more theoretical plates are needed; otherwise, operational parameters have to be adjusted, such as by changing the reflux ratio significantly, which in turn affects production volume and increases energy consumption. It is recommended that if the tower is not to be changed, then some more efficient trays or packing should be used
What is the annual production capacity? After the reaction in the reactor, we proceed with further reactions in a catalytic distillation system to increase the output. I’m not sure if the medical process is the same?
Increased rear-area air cooling, scheduling experience; insights based on the unit’s experience with 2 sets of 400,000 tons capacity
This has nothing to do with the tower; those who have done it know that
Which company are you from? We need pharmaceutical-grade MTBE
First remove the methanol, then feed it into the refining tower, and the yield will **increase**.
When producing MTBE, an excess of methanol is used, which severely affects the capacity of the purification tower. Only by removing methanol first can the yield be increased. However, MTBE and methanol are azeotropic, so removing methanol requires specialized skills.
Hello, is your company still producing high-purity MTBE products? I have a need
