As environmental regulations become increasingly strict, the trend of adding ethanol to gasoline is also growing more evident; in some areas, the use of ethanol-blended gasoline is mandatory. An experimental study was conducted according to the method specified in ASTMD6422--99 to evaluate the effect of 12 different monoform ethanol gasoline additives on reducing the phase separation temperature of ethanol gasoline. Nine additives were identified as those capable of lowering the phase separation temperature of ethanol gasoline with an ethanol content of 10% (E10) to below -25°C. On this basis, 6 composite additives were developed using the orthogonal experiment method, all of which can reduce the phase separation temperature of E10 ethanol gasoline to below -30°C (with an additive dosage of 3%). Experiments have shown that when the ethanol content in ethanol gasoline reaches 20%, it is possible to reduce its phase separation temperature to below -28°C even without the use of any additives, at an water content of 0.8%. This value is well above the limits set by national standards for the water content in ethanol gasoline, which facilitates the widespread use of such fuel. .
