There is no sound inside the pipeline; for overheated steam, a recommended flow rate is of 40–60 m/s. However, no significant sound is heard during operation, probably due to the insulation layer absorbing the sound. However, superheated steam makes a loud noise when it is vented, so a silencer is necessary; this is due both to the flow velocity and to the expansion that occurs as pressure drops.
Is it under normal operating conditions or in a release mode? If noise reduction is required, insulating material should be used.
We have a setup with 4000 Nm3/h and pipes of 200 mm in diameter; please calculate what that amounts to. The exhaust stack you mentioned is not the same thing
