I saw that in a vacuum distillation process diagram, the filter before the bottom pump is a Y-type filter with a pipe diameter of DN200. I remember that Y-type filters are not suitable for larger pipe diameters. Is it more appropriate to use a basket filter? Are there any special conditions?
Basket filters are more suitable, especially for larger pipe diameters.
This mainly depends on the dust content of the medium; the Y-type is suitable for high-pressure media with low dust content. Basket types are mainly used in processes with low pressure, high dust content, and a large required filtration area.
