I have installed air cooling for cooling the purified water, but I see steam pipes on the drawings, as well as condensate pipes. I’m not sure what the purpose of the steam pipes is Is the steam line inside or outside the tube bundle? As shown in the picture. Thank you, extra points!
Outside the tube bundle, used for heat tracing. Used for preventing freezing and condensation in harsh winter conditions; it is commonly found in air-cooling systems where the freezing point of the cooling medium is above 0 degrees Celsius, such as benzene ; I’ve never seen water being cooled air-cooled for purification; here it is for your reference
This heat tracing is presumably used to heat the pipelines coming out of air cooling; is this an acidic water stripping unit?
Where did you tell that it was acid water stripping?
Isn’t heat tracing drawn this way? Moreover, for this main pipeline with a capacity of 200 and heating steam at 100, it is recommended to consider the process aspects: whether several units need to be shut down for air cooling in winter, and whether freezing and blockages could occur if no heating is provided
1. I don’t know what your steam pressure is; if it’s high-pressure steam, then your air cooling power comes from steam, and steam serves as the source of power for air cooling. But the position shown in the diagram doesn’t seem quite right. 2. In winter, the temperature of the air coolers is too low (especially when the feed volume is low). In the case of hydrogenation processes, water is also injected into the air coolers to prevent the formation of ammonium salts. To avoid freezing of the air cooler pipelines, excessive low temperatures can cause salts to precipitate and block the pipes.
