I would like to ask what the typical pressure and temperature of ethylene in the pipes of an ethylene plant are? For example, in the pipelines before the polyethylene plant, after ethylene has been refined, I checked online and found that some sources mention a temperature of -170°C, others -33°C, and still others normal room temperature. Pressure is another factor as well; data are available for ranges between 1 and 3.5 MPa. So, what pressures and temperatures are generally used for storage and pipeline transportation within plants?
It’s obvious from the post author that they are familiar with ethylene; just ask the operator: isn’t the pressure before reaching polyethylene what matters? I remember the outlet pressure of the high-pressure ethylene pump to be in the 30s of kilograms.
