Do plastic-lined steel pipes require gaskets? ? Are gaskets needed between the pipe and the valve?
We all use mounting pads; if the processing is done externally and the surface has a high level of flatness, it may not be necessary to use a pad. We have tried that approach, but it’s still better to use one. Gaskets are also installed between the valves. Some manufacturers produce valves of relatively good quality; their technical staff say that it’s not necessary to use gaskets, but we haven’t tried this approach – we always use gaskets anyway.
What kind of gasket are you using? How thick? ? What material, thank you
We added white rubber skin because we mainly use hydrochloric acid.
How thick is it? ? Is it silicone? Still rubber?
I’m thinking that if the lined surface is smooth with no irregularities, it will be able to seal the medium inside the pipe and prevent any leakage; in that case, it’s not necessary to use gaskets. For such lined pipes, we often omit gaskets, although using gaskets does improve the sealing effect
We use regular white rubber tape.
It’s better to install gaskets; ordinary PTFE gaskets will do
