What issues should be considered when connecting a centrifugal pump (front) and a plunger pump (back) in series? Everyone is welcome to discuss it.
Regarding the flow rate selection, the front pump should be appropriately larger to prevent it from running dry

Previously, we connected a centrifugal pump when using a high-pressure pump that was used for multiple purposes. Normally, the high-pressure pump is used intermittently, and since the other medium is located at a distance, it is brought in through the centrifugal pump

On our end, since the plunger pump cannot withstand high temperatures, a high-temperature centrifugal pump and a heat exchanger have been added in front of it. There is about a 20% margin in flow rate, and the pressure before the plunger pump is designed to be 1 bar for calculations. Are there any other questions?

Of course, there are issues; it is recommended to add a tank after the centrifugal pump/heat exchanger, and then connect a plunger pump. If you don’t want pressure loss at the outlet of the centrifugal pump, you can replace the tank with a sump or a pulse damper.
The outlet pressure of the centrifugal pump can be controlled via a bypass.
