Has anyone used diatomaceous earth filters? Are they suitable for use with SS levels around 500 mg/L? And since it contains a large amount of colloids, what level can the SS in the effluent reach?
Our final product filtration utilizes diatomite as a filter aid.
Diatomite filters can take various forms such as bundled filtration, vertical blade filtration, horizontal blade filtration, plate and frame filtration, and belt-type filtration； Clustered investment is high but yields good results, with a high degree of automation. The bundled pre-coated filter aid is uniform, and a filtration efficiency of 1–3 mg/l can be achieved after the formation of the filter aid. In addition to diatomite, other types of filter aids that can be considered include cellulose, clay, activated carbon, and other media, or composite filter aids.
