Everyone, I have a question regarding the safety distance between gas transmission stations and fireworks warehouses. The straight-line distance between the gas transmission station fence and the fireworks warehouse fence is 200 meters. According to the Safety Code for the Design of Fireworks and Firecrackers Engineering GB50161-2009, the distance between such warehouses and the walls of enterprises with fewer than 50 employees should be no less than 85 meters. According to the Code for Fire Protection Design of Oil and Gas Engineering GB50183-2004, the fire protection distance between gas transmission stations and areas where explosive operations are carried out (such as quarries) is 300 meters. So the question arises: does a fireworks storage warehouse count as an explosive handling site? The regulations on fireworks and firecrackers simply use the number of employees in a company as a criterion to determine safety distances. Is this appropriate? Personally, I don’t think it can be considered an explosive work site. A workplace refers to a place where blasting operations are carried out in daily production. A firecracker warehouse is a place where blasting operations are strictly prohibited. The warehouse was already in an accident condition when it exploded, a state of abnormal operation.
I don’t understand it that way; a site where explosive operations take place refers not only to blasting work but also to locations where explosive materials are produced, transported, and stored. Because these locations also involve operations with explosive materials.
1. The firecracker manufacturing plant does not constitute an area with explosion hazards. If safety is a concern, the impact of its explosive equivalent on gas transmission stations can be calculated; that is what matters. If it explodes, it will not affect your safety, so why 300 meters? 85 meters is not necessarily unsafe; of course, 300 meters is also not necessarily safe. 2. The regulations on fireworks and firecrackers simply use the number of employees in a company to determine the safety distance, which is an appropriate approach. Since in our country, accidents classified as extremely serious or serious incidents result in 40 deaths, we set the figure at 50; if not all of them die, it won’t reach the 40-death threshold for an extremely serious accident, meaning the losses can be controlled! ----This article is purely a cold-blooded analysis; please do not adopt it! ! ! Personal suggestion: Gas transmission stations are low-rise structures; in the event of an explosion in a firecracker warehouse, the obstacles on the ground would significantly hinder the movement of flying debris. Therefore, the wall facing the firecracker warehouse at the gas transmission station should be a solid explosion-proof wall 200 meters thick, with no doors or windows in the building, thereby minimizing losses as much as possible
