Now, I’d like to discuss a safety-related issue. Our company has 5 old tanks, and we want to use them as fire water tanks. The distance between these tanks and the liquefied hydrocarbon storage areas is 30 meters. Experts say that fire water tanks are considered class II critical facilities, and therefore the spacing requirements applicable to such facilities must be followed. According to petrochemical regulations, only fire pump rooms (stations) are defined as critical facilities; there are no requirements regarding fire water tanks. Has anyone encountered this kind of problem? Otherwise, the compilation team needs to issue guidelines.

Now, both the plant-wide fire pump rooms and tanks need to be protected; fire protection facilities are particularly important, as their destruction means the entire plant will have no protective measures. Classify them as key facilities, strictly enforce safety distances – no taking risks!
