Shaanxi Province, Fang Yu: A physical chemist who mainly engages in research on thin-film fluorescent sensors and molecular gels. Born in September 1956 in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province. Graduated from Shaanxi Normal University in 1982, obtained a master’s degree from Central China Normal University in 1987, and received a doctorate from Lancaster University in the UK in 1998. Elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. Liu Maili: Analytical chemist, mainly engaged in research on bio-nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy in analytical chemistry. Born in Lantian County, Shaanxi Province, in December 1958. Graduated from Northwest University in 1982, and obtained a Ph.D. from Birkbeck College, University of London in 1996. Elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2021. Yue Jianmin: Organic chemist, mainly engaged in research on natural organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry. Born in Bin County, Shaanxi Province, in May 1962. Graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University in 1984, and obtained a master’s and a doctor’s degree from the same university in 1987 and 1990 respectively. In 2017, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zhang Tao: Physical chemist, mainly engaged in research on energy chemistry and new catalytic materials. Born in Ankang, Shaanxi, in July 1963. In 2013, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Li Can from Gansu Province: Physical chemist. Mainly engaged in research on catalytic materials, catalytic reactions, and catalytic spectroscopic characterization. Born in January 1960 in Yongchang, Gansu. In 1989, he obtained a Ph.D. in Science through a joint training program offered by the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan. Elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2003. Wu Lizhu: Organic chemist, mainly engaged in the research of photochemistry. Born in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, in October 1967. He graduated from the Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University in 1990, and obtained a Doctor of Science degree from the Institute of Photographic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1995. In 2019, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zhang Jin from Ningxia ** Autonomous Region: A physical chemist who has long been engaged in the physicochemical research of nanocarbon materials. Born in Tongxin, Ningxia in December 1969. Graduated from the Department of Modern Physics at Lanzhou University in 1992, and obtained a Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at Lanzhou University in 1997. In 2019, he was elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Tian He from the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: an expert in fine chemicals who has been engaged in research on the fundamentals and applications of functional dyes for a long time. Born in July 1962 in Urumqi, Xinjiang. I graduated from the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Nanjing University of Science and Technology in July 1982. I obtained my master’s degree and then my Ph.D. in engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in July 1986 and January 1989, respectively. Elected an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2011.
