A stream of ethylene gas at 22 barg needs to be pressurized to 24.5 barg, with a flow rate of around 5 t/h. What type of compressor would be suitable for this purpose? It would be great if you could help analyze it from aspects such as process, cost, and interlock complexity. Thank you!
Are the considerations the same for 1 m3/h and 10,000 m3/h? Just a few words like that and people have to analyze it from so many aspects – it’s amazing

In this case, the compression ratio is also relatively low; I’ve seen most compressors have a compression ratio of 1.5 or higher. There are also screw compressors, but I don’t know much about them; are their processing capacities relatively low? Is it suitable for this case? The capacity is too low; a centrifuge is definitely not cost-effective. Piston maintenance is troublesome, so screw compressors are a better choice.
Thank you; I checked the information on several screw compressors, and their maximum discharge pressure is around 1.3 MPa only. Does this refer to the absolute value or the difference between the inlet and outlet?
