Help: What are the steps for installing heating during winter? What are the precautions for installing heat tracing?
Is it electric heating or steam heating? For electric heating, first supply power to it and test it to see if there are any areas that don’t get hot or any short circuits. For steam heating, check that the heating pipes are not frozen up, and make sure that all the valves that need to be opened are indeed open
Conduct a trial run and inspection before formal use of the heat tracing. Use steam tracing by reducing the steam flow rate to test
For the first time that steam tracing is used, close the valves before and after the trap to create a bypass, open the low-point drain valve to drain all liquid, and then activate the trap while closing the bypass valve.
There’s nothing special about this. For electric heating, check to see if there are any areas that aren’t heating properly; for steam heating, normal drainage is sufficient. If there are specific requirements regarding the recovery of condensate in the power plant or its reuse within the facility, then samples must be taken and found to be satisfactory before it can be connected to the system. Regular inspections are also necessary
