Steam heater calculation

Dear sea friends: There is currently a steam-heated heat exchanger that uses superheated steam at 246°C and 1.83 MPaG to heat natural gas from 37°C to 210°C, with a natural gas flow rate of 792.36 kg/h. Natural gas flows through the tube side, while steam flows through the shell side; the heat exchanger type is BEU. After performing calculations using HTRI, the alarm screen indicated that the flow pattern of type F was high and that of type B was low. See Figures 1 and 2 for details. Is such a flow pattern distribution appropriate for a steam heater?

Stream B suggests that if the type is not to be changed, it’s fine as it is. The F-flow in U-tubes is generally on the high side; this can be adjusted by modifying the arrangement of the tubes or the shape of the baffle plates. PS: For this operating condition, enhanced heat transfer within the tube can be considered to solve the problem. The signature includes a brief introduction.

Thank you; I adjusted the direction of the flow of this flu cycle yesterday and that fixed it. Previously, when using the input interface, I didn’t notice that the software used 0° as the default parallel orientation; after changing it to an orientation perpendicular to the window, the flow pattern became normal
