Could someone who knows the subject give a general idea?
You need to find a professional to do the design; I can’t design it, and based on my experience, it’s basically impossible to meet your quality requirements.
The approach is wrong; the raw materials are not pure. Purify the raw materials, and find ways to suppress side reactions
1. Ethanol and tert-butanol have very similar boiling points, and it is difficult to achieve separation through simple distillation; extraction could be considered as an alternative. 2. To address side reactions, inhibitors are considered for use, along with a recovery process that incorporates these inhibitors later on. 3. Consider raw material pretreatment processes to reduce by-product formation.
I used Aspen Plus along with the NRTL property method to simulate the properties of these three substances. There are three azeotropes, and they are quite close to each other; conventional distillation methods are not feasible, so I need to consider other approaches
Based on the information from Floor 5, I speculate that the engineering cost for full distillation is very high
