Is it necessary to open the cover to replace the mechanical seal in an enamel reactor?
Our company’s 4000L and 3000L reactors cannot have their lids opened for replacement of seals
There is no need to open the manhole cover; the motor and reducer can be removed as a whole, and the coupling and bearing housing can be taken off in order to replace the mechanical seal.
Judging from the structure shown in the image, it should not be necessary; simply removing the short circuit between the motor and the spindle will allow the mechanical seal to be replaced
Looking at the design of machine seals, generally, for axes that use such seals, the large cover does not need to be removed; nowadays, machine seals for large axes are all of a split-type design
It may not be necessary to open the top cover, but an access hatch might be required. Before entering the equipment, secure the stirrer first, and then remove the reducer and coupling from the top cover of the tank
