May Q235B be used for highly hazardous and extremely hazardous media? Which standard reduces the requirements for the selection of media and materials? Thank you!
ASME B31 specifies various requirements for material selection
I wonder if there are any requirements in China’s national standards regarding this matter?
Appendix D of GB150.2-2011 explicitly states that Q235B cannot be used for media with extremely high hazards.
TSG D0001-2009 Code for Safety Supervision of Pressure Piping – Industrial Piping, Article 26… (4) B-grade normalized steels such as Q215B and Q235B shall not be used in pipelines carrying extremely or highly hazardous toxic media, where the design pressure is less than or equal to 3.0 MPa and the operating temperature is less than or equal to 350°C; the minimum operating temperature shall be determined in accordance with the provisions of Part 1: General Provisions of GB/T 20801.1-2006 Code for Pressure Piping – Industrial Piping.
