Do \"overall explosion protection of the equipment\" and \"integral explosion protection\" mean the same thing? It is currently known that the entire machine requires certification for explosion protection, not just the explosion-proof motors and instruments. Overall explosion protection refers to the explosion protection of components and motors, but does it not mean that the entire unit has an explosion protection certification?
Regarding explosion protection, I only knew that electrical components need to be explosion-proof; it’s the first time I’ve encountered the concept of the equipment itself being explosion-proof. For equipment, it’s generally sufficient to ensure proper static grounding in order to prevent the generation of sparks; I’m not sure about anything else! Do any other experts have this experience?

Overall explosion protection means that in areas prone to explosions, electrical power, communication, lighting, control equipment, instruments, mobile electrical devices (including power tools), as well as their power transmission and distribution circuits, must all be equipped with appropriate measures in accordance with the classification of such explosive hazard areas, in order to meet the required standards. There is no need for overall explosion-proof certification.

To clarify, overall explosion protection also requires certification for the entire device (such as the ATEX certification in Europe). Currently, since there is no such certification available in China, there is a misconception that only the motor, instruments, etc. need to be explosion-proof. It is recommended that, if capabilities permit, for applications with strict explosion-proof requirements, dry pumps with full-unit explosion-proof certification should be chosen
Overall explosion protection refers to the fact that the electrical equipment, wiring methods, and classification of explosion-proof areas in an explosive environment all meet the requirements for explosion protection. Equipment-level explosion protection, on the other hand, refers to the explosion-proof characteristics of the equipment itself; for example, in a fan that contains a motor and an impeller, it is the motor that needs to be designed to be explosion-proof. The entire fan unit also needs to be explosion-proof. Another example is a chemical storage cabinet that contains many electrical components such as lights and buttons; the lights and buttons in it need to be explosion-proof, and the entire cabinet must also have an explosion-proof certification. Combined equipment, such as a set of AGV carts, an inspection robot, a skid-mounted fueling unit, etc., requires overall explosion-proof certification. In other words, it is not only required that the electronic control components within possess explosion-proof certification; the combination and connection of these devices must also meet explosion-proof standards as a whole, with a comprehensive evaluation being conducted.
