The exhaust gas from the chloroacetyl chloride plant contains hydrogen chloride and sulfur dioxide, in a ratio of roughly 2:1. How is sulfur dioxide treated, or is it used to produce any products? And then, what should be done with the sodium sulfite in the hydrochloric acid that is produced?

Lol, we chose Nanjing Industrial for this project – it uses compression and liquefaction followed by distillation to separate hydrochloric acid and sulfur dioxide. . . Payment will be made in a few days and the equipment will arrive; I’ll drive it and see how it performs in the second half of the year

Where are you from: lol. If you compress it first, there’s acid inside – will your compressor be able to handle that? Also, if sulfur dioxide is impure, the liquefaction will not be complete!

I see that you also mentioned compression distillation in other posts, but that post referred to sulfur dioxide and hydrogen chloride after the formation of sulfonyl chloride. Sulfoxide chloride seems to be produced by absorbing hydrogen chloride to form hydrochloric acid, and then by drying sulfur dioxide. Hydrochloride is sold at high prices, or it can be used to produce chloromethane
