Do the equipment in Class A and Class B rooms both need to be explosion-proof? Under what circumstances is no explosion protection needed? Does explosion protection depend on whether the medium produces flammable gases or vapors? For substances such as strong oxidizers that do not produce flammable gases, are Category A and B substances not required to have explosion protection?
Classes A and B consist of extremely dangerous substances: flammable and explosive gases, flammable liquids, solids that produce flammable gases, and strong oxidizers. . . . . In my opinion, strong oxidizers do not require explosion-proof measures. GB50058 provides clear guidelines regarding explosive environments: such environments are those in which, once mixed with air, the substance can catch fire and continue to burn on its own. Strong oxidizers do not possess this property
