What are the prospects for those working in the thermal engineering field at listed petrochemical design institutes? Is it possible to change the process?
The work process is extremely tough; I’ve long wanted to switch to another field
Is thermal engineering not good? In the future, one can switch to a municipal engineering department or another type of department; I think it’s better than process engineering.
The employment prospects for those in process engineering are limited, while thermal engineering requires more specialized skills. Although process engineering is considered the key field, in reality, the compensation for professionals in process engineering at design institutes is the lowest.
It’s not easy. The chemical industry is currently in a downturn, so people from this field are competing fiercely to get into it, while those from other fields want to switch to it. If one has strong connections, there’s no problem; but most people aren’t able to do that.
