For example, if I need to design a system for producing 20 tons of desalinated water per hour, how should I choose the appropriate process? What is the workflow? What considerations should be taken into account regarding the number and specifications of the equipment? Additionally, I would appreciate any book recommendations on this topic. I’m new to this industry and don’t want to fail at my job; please provide as detailed an answer as possible

The selection of the desalination water tank is determined based on the water demand of the subsequent water-using units. Our desalination water tank has a capacity of around 120 m3, with a water production rate of 25 m3/h; this provides a storage capacity of approximately 4–5 hours
I can only say that the matter is too complex; it cannot be explained in just a few words. I have been involved in 6 projects (as a user). Some are poorly designed; they’re made with the sole aim of saving money. If you lack experience, you won’t be able to spot the flaws. Some designs are better; the reverse osmosis membrane has lasted for 9 years. As for design, whether it’s Dow membrane technology, Hydranautics’ membranes, or Toray’s membranes, the manufacturers all have their own design software – once the parameters are entered, the results are generated immediately. You need to pay attention to the details, such as which variables can be displayed on the industrial computer and whether curves can be generated for all of them; this is very important for future use. For example, which manufacturer produces the automatic valve. Is the RO high-pressure pump from Grundfos? Is there an SDI detector included? Can all membranes detect oxygen evolution conductivity? Wait. Anyway, the water is too deep and there’s too much content; those above are just examples.
