The production process principle for producing sodium methoxide via dimethyl ether: The production processes for dimethyl ether and sodium methoxide share common features; in both cases, methanol is used in the reaction in vapor form, and it is necessary to recover the mixture of methanol and water. The simple schematic diagram of the production process for producing sodium methoxide via dimethyl ether is shown below: The raw material methanol is fed into the methanol tower from its top as a forced reflux outside the distillation column, while the mixture of methanol and water coming from the bottom of the dimethyl ether tower is fed in from the middle of the methanol tower. Through the distillation process, the water containing trace amounts of methanol is discharged from the bottom of the methanol tower. In the flash tower, the wastewater is discharged from its bottom, and the trace amounts of methanol in vapor form are discharged from the top of the flash tower. After condensation, this vapor is mixed with the raw material methanol and then fed back into the methanol tower from its top. The methanol vapor from the methanol tower enters the sodium methoxide synthesis tower, where it undergoes heat and mass exchange with the methanol vapor coming from the bottom of the tower; the resulting sodium methoxide is obtained from the bottom of the tower ; The methanol vapor containing moisture is taken out from the top of the tower and then fed into the dimethyl ether synthesis reactor where a dehydration reaction takes place. The mixture containing methanol, dimethyl ether, and water enters the dimethyl ether tower for distillation; the resulting dimethyl ether product is obtained from the top of this tower, while the mixture of methanol and water goes to the methanol tower for distillation and separation. Reducing energy consumption per unit lowers production costs.
