Ethyl acetate catalyst: a substitute for concentrated sulfuric acid

Dear experts, I have a question: in the production of ethyl acetate via the acetate esterification method, what are the alternatives to concentrated sulfuric acid as a catalyst? What are the differences between these alternatives and concentrated sulfuric acid, and what additional equipment is required?

There’s no way around elimination either; our company has ethanol as a raw material upstream, and of course we need to use that product in our downstream processes. The esterification method is the only option left; I just want to improve things as much as possible where it’s possible
Solid acids or strong-acid type ion exchange resins can be used

Solid acids are still sulfonate groups supported on alumina, and should have properties similar to those of sulfuric acid.
