Dear seniors: This reaction vessel is an intermittent-type reactor. There is a metering tank above the reactor, and there is a device marked with the same symbol both below the metering tank and on the circulation line of the reactor (marked with red circles in the diagram). I would like to know what this device is What is its function? Thank you!
It seems like a flow meter; it’s hard to say.
Dear experts: I’m sorry, but the one on the left is not part of the reactor circulation line; it’s part of the line that goes from the top of the reactor to the exhaust gas absorption tank.

Judging from the location, the one in the upper left corner is likely a sight glass used to monitor the liquid flow out of the upper measurement tank. The one on the right is a bit hard to understand; if it’s the condenser, there should be a normal value. The reaction vessels in my current company operate intermittently, and there is a sight glass on each of the outlet and return pipes after condensation. However, it is not displayed on the DCS operation interface.)·········
I have come across this type of sight glass before, but each design firm uses its own design approach; it’s best to check the legend or ask the person who provided you with the diagram
It should be a pipe glass sight glass, used to observe the flow of materials.
Thank you! There is another diagram showing a condenser; its main function is to condense the water vapor generated by the reaction. However, the DCS indicates that the sight glass should be installed before the inlet to the condenser. What is the purpose of such an installation?
