In general, the emergency pressure relief hatch on a tank is designed to open in case of intense evaporation of the material due to a fire; therefore, nitrogen sealing tanks usually do not have safety valves. For methanol, a tank at atmospheric pressure (-0.5~2 KPa) is generally used; there is no need for a very high nitrogen sealing pressure – 0.5 KPa for nitrogen sealing, 1.375 KPa for the vent valve, and 1.8 KPa for the emergency pressure relief hatch are sufficient.
