I would like to ask about the calculation of steam pipeline flow distribution. There is a DN700 steam main in the power plant, with parameters of 2 MPa and 300°C. There are DN300 branches connected to this main; under certain operating conditions, the total flow rate in the main is 450 t/h, while the DN300 branches carry 30 t/h each. I would like to ask: if I install another DN200 branch pipe on top of the DN300 branch pipe for external steam supply, can it ensure that the steam output of the DN200 pipe at the aforementioned operating conditions reaches 30 t/h? Are there any other formulas for traffic allocation calculations besides those in Chapter 7 of DL/T 5054? Is there any software that can be used for such simulations? I hope some experienced experts can give me some advice
The flow rate of steam is controlled by the opening degree of the valve; if the pipe diameter meets the flow requirements, the desired flow rate can be achieved through valve control. The density of steam at 2 Mpa is 10; 30 t/h corresponds to 3000 m3/h, with a flow velocity of 26.5 m/s. The documentation states that hot steam allows 35-60 m/s, so there should be no problem

It depends on the resistance in the subsequent piping; a systematic calculation is required, rather than assuming that a larger opening will result in a higher flow rate
