A new SCR denitration system has been installed and is currently in the commissioning phase; steam soot blowing is used, with the reactor temperature ranging from 270 to 280 degrees. The cold-state test for steam soot blowing has been completed, with no issues. So, can I try the hot-state steam soot blowing now? Steam temperature is 250 degrees, and pressure is 1.1 MPa. Ignoring the effect of erosion, could a sudden rise in catalyst temperature cause the catalyst to crack?
It won’t happen; as long as the water in the steam is removed properly, the catalyst will still maintain its strength. In reality, it’s not necessary to use soot blowers.
