Question: Since the vacuum pump itself already has a vapor-liquid separation tank, why is another vacuum pump seal tank needed below it? Please, experts, give me some advice! Urgent
It would be best to have a diagram. What gas is being drawn? The vacuum pump you are referring to is likely a liquid ring vacuum pump, which comes equipped with a relatively small gas-liquid separation tank; as a result, the separation is not very effective. If thorough separation is required, an additional large separation tank should be installed downstream.
The vacuum pump itself does not have a tank. A vacuum pump system can be equipped with a tank; how exactly to do this? It depends on the process requirements.
The sealed tank specified below is generally part of a closed-system vacuum; depending on the requirements of the process design, it can also function as a circulation spray/absorption tank, and its function is fundamentally different from that of the separate separation tank it comes with!
