I would like to ask about the temperature drop in flue gas pipes

Hello, esteemed seniors. I’ve been working on my undergraduate project recently, and I noticed that when calculating things related to pipes, the temperature drop along that section is also taken into account. What is the purpose of calculating this? Thank you
The rest is unclear; the exhaust temperature needs to be controlled, mainly to prevent dew point corrosion.
As a supplementary note, this design is for flue gas desulfurization
