There is less than one ton of iodine stored in the warehouse – is it necessary to install toxic gas detection alarms? GBZ/T 223
Iodine is volatile, and it is also very valuable; any leakage can result in significant losses. It is advisable to install one or two alarms, with the sensor probes placed at a lower height. 1 ton of iodine can be quite expensive.
Iodine sublimes easily, but I’m not really sure just how \"easy\" it is. Could you give some guidance?
I checked, and the vapor pressure of iodine at 20°C is 99 Pa. At 35°C, the atmospheric pressure is 272 Pa, while it is 101325 Pa. At this temperature, the iodine content is 272/101325 = 0.268%, which is a very high level. In comparison, the vapor pressure of mercury at 35°C is only 0.583 Pa, whereas that of water is 5630 Pa at the same temperature
