As the title suggests, a regular centrifugal pump was used for unloading before; it would pump very slowly when only 500 kilograms remained to be unloaded. Given that Propanol is also a flammable liquid, a magnetic pump was replaced to prevent leaks; however, the liquid could not be completely unloaded, and the pump body became warm to the touch, with a temperature of around 40°C. In my opinion, since the position of the tank truck is higher than that of the pump (at ground level), when there is not much material in the tank, the suction pipe can easily draw in air, which prevents a negative pressure from being created at the magnetic pump head and thus makes it impossible to extract all the material. Each time when reaching the last amount of material, the pump needs to be stopped, and the pump can be restarted only after the material fills the suction pipe. This method must be repeated multiple times to completely remove the material from the tank truck. I’d like to ask fellow users for recommendations on ways to remove propylene completely in one go, so as to avoid such hassle. Thank you!
:You can weld two metal frames by yourselves, something similar to those anti-slip frames; just place the tank truck on top of them – having a slope will do

Thank you all for your suggestions. Is there any pump that can draw in the liquid all at once, eliminating the need for such procedures later on? We already have a shortage of staff for unloading at our tank farm.
Solution: Add a small buffer tank in front of the pump, along with an exhaust valve and a drain valve, as well as a level gauge – that should suffice!
Is there a buffer tank before the pump? If no recommendation is given to add one more, it will still act as a buffer to allow any air that leaks in to be returned to the gas phase system of the storage tank
Sweeping pumps are generally positive displacement pumps, gear pumps, or screw pumps; centrifugal pumps are prone to cavitation when the liquid level is low.
