I would like to ask: under what circumstances is it necessary to add an eight-character blind plate behind the valve in the diagram? Is it used when it’s necessary to switch processes or carry out maintenance?
It looks like a pressure boundary. Processes used only during startup and shutdown
As shown in the diagram, the eight-character blind flange is in its normal operating state when the passages are unobstructed. Reverse blind position in maintenance mode
For maintenance, as well as during startup and shutdown operations, blind ends are used; pressure rating boundaries are also considered
Open during normal production; install a blind flange during inspection and maintenance.
It mainly refers to the mandatory isolation during startup/shutdown as well as maintenance work
Now, there is a requirement to keep records such as ledger sheets and usage logs for the blind plates.
It is generally used during maintenance when it is necessary to switch processes, or for forced isolation!
8-character blind plates generally come with front and rear hand valves as well as a drain between the valves, to facilitate switching under any circumstances. As shown in the setup, there is only a front-hand valve; how can we confirm that the material behind the blind plate has been emptied during switching? There must be situations where blind plates are used under pressure, which seems to be a potential hazard
